CHANNELED MESSAGES FROM: THE ANGELS OF JOY & PURPOSE

Dear Ones, On your search for the joy in life, often you forget to look within. You read, you take course after course, you change careers, change partners, change your clothes, change your looks ... all the while thinking that your joy and purpose is something you will find 'out there' somewhere. In fact, WITHIN, is the only place you can FEEL the sensation of peace and contentment. When you discover your own 'presence' within yourselves, you learn that the only tool you need for joy and to feel purposeful is to be capable ot letting of your investment in the mental and physical chaos. There are many around you that cast out their light and tough others. You begin to see them when you search and open to the awareness of that. And in so doing, you open yourself up to more possibilities and discoveries of potentials. And at that point, you learn that you are ALL capable of purposely living in the presence of joy and love. THE COACHES CORNER - "ASK THE COACH"

Dear Coach,

My indigo-daughter is very intelligent but her grades in school don't reflect this. As a matter of fact, the chances are good that she will be failing the year and have to repeat. Why is she doing this? I am so frustrated! I have shown patience and understanding, but she refuses to "buckle down" and study. Instead, she complains about the incompetence of the faculty. She's right, but that's not how the game is played. She's already repeated once before. How can I make her understand before its too late?

Dear Jean:

I feel your frustration as a parent wanting what is best for their children. Yes, this is an all too-common scenario among young Indigos and the educational system. While that is perhaps one of the most common traits of an Indigo, what the high intelligence vs. lower grades scenario is showing is that on one level, your daughter is bored. Indigos often are bored within typical educational structures because they are in a system where they feel 'forced' to learn information that may not resonate to, may feel that it has no purpose in their lives, or perhaps the material and course are not 'creative' enough to stimulate and excite them. Furthermore, in the mainstream system there is much focus on 'core' or mandatory courses that everybody has to undertake, for a variety of reasons. And the educational instructors are in this system, trained to think, perceive and believe in this way, which by a very bored Indigo trying to find herself and the deeper purpose to everything, can be perceived as incompetent. Unfortunately the latter notion is not necessarily true, however since Indigos can 'sniff' out superficialities vs. deeper levels of behaviour and thought, they will respond to those superficialities the best way they know how - simply put, they refuse to give in and engage in it. I would also like to point out that this also ties in with the typical way of thinking that unless one undergoes this mainstream path, they will not get a job, get a good paying job, get into college or other higher institution of learning, be successful and on and on it goes.

The bottom line here is that the 'system' also dictates that intelligence and grades go hand in hand. That being the level of intelligence should reflect in the grades and vice versa. That's a belief unto itself. And as soon as one of the two is out of sync, then we tend ask the question 'what's wrong'. Why? Because it goes against the belief that the two parallel each other. But in fact, there is nothing 'wrong' at all. Indigos deep down know that this is an old paradigm of thinking if one can call it that, and don't engage or conform to it. In short, they know inwardly that intelligence and letter-number grades or scores actually don't fit together

So why is she doing this? Well, my strong sense is that your daughter on a deeper level is understanding the superficial nature of it all. And keep in mind, it is to her that this feel superficial. She may strongly feel that there is no purpose to studying the material that holds no interest for her or resonates for her, or that she had no say in 'choosing' what courses of study appealed to her. The present system is designed to not truly allow the latter, except for elective courses. And as I mentioned earlier, because Indigos are also non-conformists, they will not engage in anything that doesn't 'ring' right or is superficial, one-dimensional or seemingly linear in nature. And jumping through the hoops of the educational system, to most of them, is construed as one-dimensional. And they do indeed recognize the game, and they don't like playing it either.

So what to do? One way to get through all of this is to allow her to find the creative aspect in the study. Short of quitting school or finding alternative instruction methods, it is important to understand that in order for her as an Indigo to help change the system (which is what their missions are), they have to be in the heart of the system they are helping change. So, in order for her to get through it all, it is necessary to discover creative ways and use creative tools. Sometimes, just the method of learning can change through the employ of various creative means such as colour, music, or art for example. Everybody learns differently, and your daughter needs to discover her method of intaking and understanding information. Sometimes drawing a picture rather than writing down linear words on a line may help in the understanding. I have talked to many people who have used song or dance (yes, dance!) as their mode of choice for memorizing information or using colour to highlight or underline important points. Your daughter may have different strengths in the visual, auditory or sensory aspects. She also may intake information let's say more visually than auditory just as an example. Sometimes the use of analogies or scenarios that they can relate to, helps in understanding concepts or ideas, that for an Indigo, may suddenly change their whole pespective and understanding of the material.

I hope this whole mouthful of information can assist you with your daughter. I wish you all the best especially as an Indigo parent.

LIVING LEGACY - Living your Life In and On Purpose

IN the wake of many 'prominent' people leaving this planet to go back Home, it seems to be the common question people left behind here, ask. What was 'Ms or Mr. X' remembered for? It is something everybody does at every death of every person that walked this planet. WE tend to focus on what we remember about that person. What impact did they make on our lives? But do we actually pose that question to ourselves while we are alive? Usually not. I feel that perhaps this is an indeed an important question to pose to ourselves, for it 'forces' us in a sense to establish a deeper connection with our soul-selves and even open the door to our purpose(s) in our lives.

I recently returned from a personal development workshop where I was given the following scenario: if I was diagnosed with a terminal disease and given 6 weeks to live, what would I do? What would I regret not doing? And then the clincher, I was to write my own eulogy. Talk about shoving someone into the moment and looking at yourself in the mirror. What on earth (pun intended) would I have to say about myself to myself? But even more importantly, what was the legacy that I wanted to leave behind so people would remember me by? My first off the cuff answer to myself was 'why did I have to leave a legacy'? I knew that I was already on my mission, in my purpose, but had never thought of myself actually leaving something behind after I was finished here. My perspective changed the way I looked at my purpose as well as looking at myself. And it certainly brought me to a deeper level of being, knowing and appreciating myself.

The bottom line is we all are here holding pieces of the big puzzle in order to make a difference on this Planet. That's part of change and evolution. Sometimes, our purpose may not be to be Pope, a royal figure, or celebrity, but neverthess we all have one. Sometimes our purposes lie in simply being a friend, a supporter, an ear, a lending hand. And our legacy is simply about making that difference, whether we judge it as big, small, public or private. The most important thing is us living our lives from our places of purpose and actually living 'on' purpose. After all, every choice we make in our lives is technically 'on' purpose whether we are aware of it or not.

So, ask yourself those questions - what would I want to leave behind? And then ask yourself what's stopping you from fullfilling that?
